About

The Home of Live Recording !
Edmonton has a brand new multimedia recording studio.  Designed by Ian McArthur, recording engineer, and David Murray, architect, this purpose built facility was constructed from the ground up with the best materials and acoustic principles.  The studio is centrally located in Edmonton’s historic Hull Block.

A Comfortable Creative Environment
Designed with the artist/performer in mind, Mac Alley Studios features five fully isolated rooms, all with excellent sight lines.  This means you get the flexibility you need to capture that “Live Feel”, and the advantage of “One Track per Instrument Mixing”.  With natural daylight, plants, tasteful décor and artwork, people often comment on how comfortable the surroundings are. Come see for yourself!

The Importance of “The Room”
Technology has come a long way and nowhere is this more evident than in the recording industry.  A good recording starts with a great performance on a quality instrument, in a great sounding room, recorded through a quality microphone and preamp.  At Mac Alley Studios we have great sounding rooms so you won’t have to “fix it in the mix”.

Three Isolation Rooms
Mac Alley Studios was designed and built with the utmost flexibility in mind.  The three isolation rooms each have different surfaces, and the main studio room has wall mounted acoustic panels making it tunable to your requirements.  Mac Alley Studios offers you the flexibility to get your live sound, “Just Right”.  Come and see for yourself just what a difference Mac Alley Studios can make to your next project.

Full Service Studio
Mac Alley Studios has partnered with Mammoth Productions, a full service video production company located in the same building.  The studio and video suite are networked together.  This allows both companies to offer our customers full audio video and post production services.  Mac Alley also offers artwork services and web page designs.

Digital Mastering Service
Let’s face it, more and more artists are recording at home.  One of the most common questions we hear is: “Why don’t my recordings sound like what I hear on the radio or on store bought CDs?”  Well, it’s probably that mysterious black art called “Mastering”.  Mac Alley Studios’ control room was specially designed as an acoustically correct mastering room.  With this room and our special mastering equipment we can make most projects sound better.
